We have been promoting the Antiques & Collectors Fair at Ally Pally as being almost 40 years old…. we lied!

We have just found out that whilst there were auto jumbles with antiques for a while, the first specific antiques-related event was held in the Palm Court in 1975/6 so it is actually almost 50 years old! Initially with 150 stalls, the organisers changed in 1981, after the great fire! Since then, this event has attracted hundreds of stall holders and thousands of visitors every time!
